The Nizhniy Novgorod region

On the 31st January a ceremony summing up the results of the competition for the prize from the governor of Nizhegorodsky region "Leaders of Nizhegorodsky tourist industry 2005" took place at a rest centre "Chaika".

This is the third competition of such kind. This year it took place under the initiative of the ministry of support and development of small businesses, customers' market and services of the Nizhegorodsky region. There were 62 applications to take part in the competition, from them there were 33 winners on 31 nominations. Irina Zhivikhina, deputy governor of development assets-land relations, enterprise, protection of environment and objects of cultural ancestry, Denis Labuza, minister of support and development of small businesses, Sergey Malov, representative of the ministry of foreign affairs in Nizhny Novgorod, Vladimir Solovyev, director of department of industrial politics and foreign economics relations, took part in the ceremony of summing up the results of the competition and award the winners. "The competition assists the development of branch of an industry, and development of a branch of an industry is increasing budgets of all levels, new work places" -Denis Labuza underlined.

After the ceremony of awarding the winners of the competition there was a press-conference on the theme of development of tourism in Nizhegorodsky region. According to Denis Lobuza's words during the last years there is a sign of positive dynamics in increasing of the volume of tourists into the region - up to 15-20%, amount of services of Nizhegorodsky tour companies for 2005 is 700 million roubles.

The aim of the competition is forming a positive image of Nizhegorodsky tourist industry at Russian and international tourist markets, increase of tourists' numbers into the Nizhegotodsky region.
