Bolshoe Boldino is a remarkable corner of Russia which is connected with a life and creativity of the great Russian poet Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin.

Boldino and the lands joining to it, during three centuries belonged to the generation of the Pushkins - to one of the most ancient nobiliary generation of Russia. This ground « in the Arzamas district ... under a greater Mordovian black wood » was got to the far ancestors of the poet not as a gift - on the boundary of XV1-XVII of centuries they had to deserve its feats of arms and successful state activity.

Today the estate of Pushkin is Boldino's center. Here the State literary-memorial and natural memorial reserve which was created in 1949 to the honour of 150 anniversary from the date of the birth of the poet.
It is one of the most known literary reserves of Russia. Annually ten thousands people from all regions of Russia and from abroad visit Pushkin's Boldino. This surprising place submits the unique poetic aura, leaves desire to come back here more and more times to the full to feel charm and delight from participation in the phenomenal phenomenon - the autumn of Boldino. The regional center Bolshoe Boldino is situated in 220 km to the southeast from Nizhni Novgorod. The village was based in XIV century ,the name, possibly, comes from personal Mordovian name Bolda ("head"). From the moment of its occurrence it belonged to the generation of the Pushkins . The Village nowadays is a tourist center having a modern hotel complex and a restaurant.
