The town opens with a vast panorama of the industrial landscape. Huge workshops, blast-furnaces and plant stacks are all in the western part of the town and so are all in the western part of the town and so are multi-storey dwellings in the east.
The district centre Viksa is situated 190 km away to the south-west from N. Novgorod and 30 km away from the railway station “Navashino”. The population is 63.200 people. Two rivers the Zheleznitsa and the Viksun flow through the town which is surrounded by the legendary forests. On both rivers three huge ponds were made. They were made in the 18th century and represent a nice sample of engineering art.
