Underground. The first stations were opened in 1985. At present there are two lines (Avtozavodskaya and Sormovskaya) with 13 stations. The length of all lines is about 15km. The trains begin running at 6a.m and finish at 12p.m. Intervals at rush hours last 4 min. What is particular about Nizhny Novgorod underground is that you don’t have to go from one train to another if you want to change the lines; you’d better wait at the station “Mosckovskaya”. At this station the trains change the direction of their movement and pass to another line.
Nizhny Novgorod underground is beautiful enough. The underground lines were laid not in the historical centre of the citz but were directed from the railway station to the industrial districts.
